For those who thought to do the OCM (Oracle Certified Master) 12c exam and were performing tests at OL6 platforms e/or worked in projects where you had to install Oracle database 12c on operating systems OL6 this is no longer possible at 19C database version. To apply patch manually, you have to look into README file for the patch. These steps use 19.5 RU but same steps can be followed for latest RU.

The Oracle Software is not completely installed, just unzipped. In this post I’ll be sharing steps to patch manually Oracle Software only. Execute orainstRoot.sh and root.sh as root user. For instance, if you are going to install Oracle database on Linux, it is recommended to check the “Database Installation Guide for Linux” and check the operating system checklist.
